Environmental Efficiency

Pumangol takes a proactive approach to environmental sustainability, fostering the responsible and efficient use of limited natural resources such as water, energy, and raw materials. Our goal is to safeguard these resources for future generations by integrating sustainable practices that minimize environmental impact and promote conservation.

We continuously invest in process optimization to reduce resource consumption and lower emissions. Additionally, we champion environmental education, engaging both our employees and local communities in awareness initiatives that reinforce the importance of environmental stewardship. Through these efforts, Pumangol not only meets regulatory requirements but actively contributes to a more sustainable and balanced future.

Through these initiatives, Pumangol goes beyond regulatory compliance, actively driving long-term sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Recycling and environmental awareness

In 2023, we launched a pilot project to install eco-points in partnership with Refriango (Coca-Cola) and the Nação Verde NGO. This initial phase included the implementation of eco-points in 10 Pumangol Service Stations, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and initiate a continuous process of responsible waste management.

    Waste management and environmental protection

Pumangol implements strict hydrocarbon discharge and responsible treatment practices, minimizing the environmental impact of its operations.

      Mangrove restoration

Over the years, we have maintained a long-standing partnership with Otchiva NGO, focused on mangrove restoration and tree planting to create a green belt in critical regions of the country, particularly in the south – Cunene, Huíla, and Namibe. This project aims to combat desertification and protect the local ecosystem.

        Marine species protection

In collaboration with Otchiva NGO, we have implemented an environmental awareness program focused on protecting endangered fish species and promoting sustainable fishing practices within coastal communities
